Hello All,
Having played DAoC since its original launch, I can say that it stands out as one of my all time favorite games ever. As a gamer who has worked in the industry too, I have played nearly all of the MMO’s that have been launched over the years. So what right… LoL. What’s my point.
Ok so Eden is amazing, great work and as for being a “traditionalists” I understand the views of those who may or may not like “new things” being added to such an iconic game. My view is that the “new” is great. Maybe it turns out to be popular, maybe not but at least the game is not stagnate and dead, right. So, as a long time player and fan of the game, I whole-heartedly applaud the efforts of the team behind Eden. New classes, new whatever, is Cool! Make your vision a reality and be creative in your efforts!
So, now for my critique of DAoC and why it always looses my attention as my main game. The Taking ten – fifteen minutes to get ready for PvP and getting killed nearly instantly when fighting. Eden does attempt to address this to some degree, with the PvP queuing systems. Great stuff! But, that has always been my main complaint about the game in general. You die so dam fast! I know, I know, “get better”, “level up in RRs” ect… true enough. You are tougher the higher RR you gain, but still, when two or three casters “assist target” you… well your toast w butter in a flash.
So. My humble suggestion… would it be so terrible, to try an experiment. And give a grouchy old man a big Health boost! (lol) What IF, for a period of time, we set all of the levels of health for Playres in PvP to double or even triple…. So that fights might actually have some degree of tactical game play…. And that PvP encounters might last more then a few seconds…. ?

A 50% resist debuff is simply too much. Even with Magic Avoidance 9, you're dead in 2 seconds on assist.

Not sure what you are doing for 10-15mins to get ready. I dont think a hp boost will help you in any way. I mean if you dont die in 2 secs, then you die in 10 secs helpless, if you aren´t "good" enough and if the hp boost is too huge, people will run away more than ever and hide somewhere.
If you can´t hold the pace, adapt (join communities, optimize your ui, qbars, recorders etc), improve (well at some point probably difficult or impossible for some people) or accept that you will probably never play like person xy or you just can´t compete in this game.
YOur idea isn´t thought through. DAoC has a rupt system against casted range attacks. DAoC has several no cc immu abilities. You can ´t just boost the hp by insane amounts and forget about everything else. And i definitely know that the gain from this is zero for this game. You still will be killed like before... probably more annoying because your dying process is much longer.
It is intended that you die fast in good coordinated assists without countering them.
