1. Eden Account

You need an Eden Account to access Eden Services and play online.

To create an Eden Account, you must have a valid email address and provide accurate information.

You are responsible for the activity on your Eden Account; it's yours, don't share it. Your Eden Account may be suspended or terminated if someone else uses it to engage in activity that violates this Agreement.

2. License

Eden grants you access to its services for your personal enjoyment.

Eden grants you free access to its services for personal, non-commercial use. This access is non-transferable and may be revoked if you violate this Agreement. The original code and tools developed by the Eden team remain the property of their respective authors. All other intellectual property, including but not limited to Dark Age of Camelot, belongs to its respective owners as described in Section 12.

3. Content and In-Game Features

Eden provides free access to game content and features. Some in-game items are obtained using virtual currency earned through gameplay.

Content refers to anything appearing on Eden Services: website, forum posts, in-game data, and any material contributed by users (referred to as "UGC" — user-generated content). UGC includes forum posts, profile content, and other contributions by users. See Section 5 for UGC terms.

All in-game features, items, achievements, and virtual currencies ("Eden Virtual Currency") are provided free of charge and earned through gameplay.

Eden Virtual Currency has no real-world value, cannot be exchanged for cash, and is non-transferable between accounts.

You are responsible for providing your own computer and Internet connection to access Eden Services.

4. Availability of Eden Services and Updates

Eden is a volunteer-run project. Services may not always be available, and updates or changes may impact your game progress.

We do not guarantee that Eden Services will be available at all times, in all locations, or that we will continue to operate them for any particular length of time. Eden Services may not be accessible on all devices or through all Internet providers.

From time to time, Eden may update or modify its services without prior notice. These updates may be required in order to continue using Eden Services.

Eden may reset certain parameters to balance gameplay. These resets may affect your characters, progression, or in-game items.

Eden may take actions on your account without prior notice to protect the service or its users, such as resetting passwords, suspending access, or removing accounts. Your access may also be restricted in response to Rules of Conduct violations, as described in Section 6.

5. Your UGC

You allow Eden and other players to use anything you upload or create (UGC) within Eden Services. You are responsible for your UGC, it must be your own content or content you're allowed to use.

You are responsible for your UGC. You may not upload UGC that infringes a third party's intellectual property rights, violates the law, this Agreement, or another person's privacy.

Eden may remove or edit UGC that violates this Agreement. Eden is not responsible for user-generated content and does not endorse it.

When you contribute UGC, you grant Eden a non-exclusive, royalty-free right to use, display, and store your content within Eden Services. Other users may view and interact with your UGC as part of normal use of Eden Services.

6. Rules of Conduct

We want everyone to have a good time. Respect your fellow players: don't cheat, don't be offensive, don't hack, don't spam.

When you access or use an Eden Service, you agree that you will not:

• Violate any law, rule or regulation.
• Interfere with or disrupt any Eden Service or any server or network used to support or provide an Eden Service, including any hacking or cracking into an Eden Service.
• Use any software that damages or disrupts Eden Services or other players' computers, such as malware, viruses, or denial of service attacks.
• Interfere with or disrupt another player's use of an Eden Service. This includes disrupting the normal flow of game play, chat or dialogue within an Eden Service by, for example, using vulgar or harassing language, being abusive, excessive shouting (all caps), spamming, flooding or hitting the return key repeatedly.
• Harass, threaten, bully, embarrass, spam or do anything else to another player that is unwanted, such as repeatedly sending unwanted messages or making personal attacks or statements about race, sexual orientation, religion, heritage, etc. Hate speech is not tolerated.
• Create, share, or participate in any content, activity, group, or guild that is offensive, hateful, sexually explicit, harassing, or otherwise violates the Rules listed above.
• Publish or distribute content that is illegal or that you don't have permission to share.
• Post a message for any purpose other than personal communication. Prohibited messages include advertising, spam, chain letters, pyramid schemes and other types of solicitation or commercial activities.
• Impersonate another person or falsely imply that you are an Eden staff member.
• Make false reports to Eden staff.
• Attempt to obtain, or phish for, a password, account information, or other private information from anyone else on Eden Services.
• Engage in any fraudulent or unlawful activity in connection with Eden Services.
• Use bots, scrapers, or other automated tools to access Eden Services, create accounts, or extract data.
• Modify game files beyond what is allowed by Eden (allowed: AutoHotKey, ReShade as specified in Section 10).
• Use or distribute hack, cheat, or exploit software, or abuse bugs to gain an unfair advantage.
• Engage or assist in cheating or anticompetitive behavior (such as boosting, collusion, or realm point trading).
• Attempt to duplicate or falsify in-game currency or items.
• Intentionally obfuscate your identity or connection to circumvent bans or other restrictions imposed by Eden.
• Sell, buy, share, or trade your Eden Account or any in-game items, currency, or progress with other players or third parties.
• Use a username or character name that is vulgar, offensive, or impersonates another person.
• Engage in any other activity that significantly disturbs fair and respectful gameplay.
• Use information about users publicly available in any Eden Service (e.g. on a leaderboard) for any purpose unrelated to the Service, including to attempt to identify such users in the real world.
• Promote, encourage or take part in any prohibited activity described above.

To enforce these rules, we may monitor in-game activity. If you don't follow these rules, we may warn you, suspend you, or ban you permanently.

If you violate these rules, Eden may take action including suspending or terminating your account as described in Section 8. Severe violations (hacking, account trading, extreme harassment, illegal activity) may result in an immediate ban without prior warning.

Additional rules may apply to specific areas of Eden (e.g. forum, Discord).

If you encounter another user violating these rules, please report it via Discord or our Forum.

Your in-game communications are public and visible to other players. Your use of Eden Services is subject to our data practices as described in Section 9.

7. Game

We use anti-cheat measures to protect fair gameplay. Tampering with them can result in losing access.

Eden uses anti-cheat and security measures to protect the integrity of the game. Attempting to circumvent or tamper with these measures may result in a permanent ban.

To play on Eden, you must install the Eden launcher. The launcher may update automatically.

The Eden launcher may download and install updates and additional features. Eden has no obligation to support previous versions of the launcher.

You may uninstall the Eden launcher and related files at any time by deleting them from your computer.

Monitoring and Anti-Cheat Measures

The Eden launcher includes anti-cheat detection that reports results to Eden.

The Eden launcher and game client may check for the presence of known cheating software. This data is used solely for anti-cheat enforcement.

If cheating is detected, Eden may collect relevant information (account details, detected software, timestamps) for investigation purposes. Confirmed cheating may result in a permanent ban.

Anti-cheat checks only run while the game is active.

8. Termination and Other Sanctions

If you break this agreement or the law, Eden may suspend or terminate your access to Eden Services.

This Agreement is effective until terminated by you or Eden. Eden may terminate your account if you violate this Agreement. You may lose your characters and data as a result of account termination.

Before termination, Eden may issue warnings, temporarily suspend your account, or ban your device from accessing Eden Services.

Eden may shut down its services at any time without obligation to maintain them.

If you believe action was taken against your account in error, please contact us on Discord or our Forum.

9. Use of Data

Eden collects certain information when you use its services, for operation and rule enforcement.

When you use an Eden Service, Eden may collect and store data from your computer or device, including information about your device and operating system (such as IP address and device ID), gameplay statistics, and anti-cheat scan results.

Eden may publicly display gameplay statistics such as scores, rankings, and accomplishments (e.g. on the Herald or leaderboards).

Your data is stored by Eden on our server located in Germany and is not shared with third parties.

10. Third Parties

Only specific third-party tools are allowed when playing on Eden.

You are not allowed to use third party tools that interact with the game except for AutoHotKey and ReShade.

11. Warranties; Limitation of Liability

Eden Services are provided "as is" without any warranty. Nothing is guaranteed.

Eden is a non-commercial, volunteer-run community project. Eden does not guarantee that its services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. You use Eden Services entirely at your own risk.

Eden and its volunteers are not liable for any damages or loss of data resulting from your use of Eden Services.

12. Intellectual Property Disclaimer

Eden is an independent, community-driven fan project. Eden is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or associated with Electronic Arts Inc., Broadsword Online Games, Mythic Entertainment, or any of their subsidiaries or affiliates.

"Dark Age of Camelot" and all related trademarks, logos, and intellectual property are the property of their respective owners. Any use of these names or references on Eden Services is solely for identification purposes and does not imply any claim of ownership.

Eden does not distribute, host, or provide any original game client software. Users must obtain their own legally acquired copy of the game client. Eden provides only the server emulation software and related community services.

Should any rights holder have concerns regarding content hosted on Eden Services, we encourage them to contact us directly as described in Section 14. Eden is committed to acting in good faith and will promptly address any legitimate intellectual property concern.

13. Non-Commercial Nature

Eden is a non-commercial project operated entirely by volunteers. No revenue, profit, or commercial gain is derived from the operation of Eden Services. Eden does not accept donations or any form of payment.

Eden does not charge any fee to access or use its services. All infrastructure and hosting costs are covered personally by the project's volunteers.

14. Intellectual Property Complaints

Eden respects intellectual property rights. If you are a rights holder and have concerns regarding content on Eden Services, please contact us at contact@eden-daoc.net. Eden is committed to acting in good faith and will promptly address any legitimate concern.
