Hi i address mostly folks who played savage casually or competitive with this post - this is feedback from a S2 RR9 main Savage.
To anyone who wants to join the conversation blindly, write a rant about vampire instead.
Savages as a class have their unique role, scary as they are they are not so much without a team anyone who has been competitive solo / small man knows
it's not a one trick pony and honestly the only people dying easily to it are unexperienced players who would not do any better against anyone else.
This is NOT a rant saying savages need direct buffs to their setup or major changes.
A short summary of cons and pros of the class before we delve into the topic:
CONS:
- extremely low amount of skill points (compared to ohter melle classes)
- extremely inefficient styles on Hand to Hand
- no defensive passive actives
- no direct stun styles on any line
- high value hp/life consuming buffs on a short timer even with full buff duration benefit
- no additional passive offensive abilities
- no short cast or instantaneous ability to use against opponents ranged (forced to rely on a 1minute charge item)
- 5% block if people wanna meme facts
PROS:
- evasion 4
- buffs?
- Access to beneficial abilities for 8v8 RvR (det9, stoicism, Charge)
ABOUT THEM BUFFS:
- the minimal amount of heath you buffs will consume each fight 15% Max 25% (with Blissfull ignorance on 5min CD)
- in melle duel with all the stalling mechanics you will be forced to re-apply them buffs at least one time (winning the duel will most likely still result in you getting killed by poison/bleeds)
- ALL classes in game have access to a 25% haste buff via charges
- The fact the damage buff is % damage based basically screams use of a 2Handed slow weapon
- Taunt is useless
- Melle resist chants all though on paper very powerful completely useless against elemental weapons and hard to correctly apply since trust and slash weapons look the same / similar
- Endurance regen is 5%/10%/20% life which is boarder line unusable
- Evasion 25% Parry 25% + base
- Buffs do not get affected by buff stat benefit items.
With all the classes this season being more self reliant and chant monsters being consistent
the only unique thing about the savage is walking back to the field to get your ass handled again
I suggest addressing the issue by simply giving savage players room to play, giving us more skill points without any ohter changes letting us at least run a hybrid combo.
I currently run 36 Hammer (34 at rr7) 36 H2H 39 Savagery (17% resist,21% damage, 32% haste) 14parry
currently a balanced hybrid build is near impossible since 39 savagery 44 H2H and 34 hammer/axe is minimum for a functioning build without the use of a 1H hammer + claw
Why are we forced to not be able to specialize in a hybrid H2H / Hammer (or any 2H) weapon is beyond me.
Tested by me i've ran a hybrid build last season and this season and these are the results that i've found so far.
- 1H hammers alongside a claw will Quad hit and obej the calculation set by H2H for multiple hits (aprox 33% dual 12% tri 3.2% quad)
- The Claw in second hand will ignore any style you do with the hammer ( miss chance and no additional damage)
- The Two weapon equipped will not count as dual wield in the conventional sense vs enemy def. (evade, block)
- The Claw will always be used as the source of additional hits on dual, trip, quad hits
Will a side 2 style 9 second stun impact group fights very much? Hardly an issue since slam exists.
Savagery will always be ran to 49 by most people,
Proposed Changes: (Quality of life/versatility)
An minimum of 210 skill points would unlock a 44 H2H 36 Hammer/Axe 39 Savagery 1 parry build
This would also only increase of maximum parry by 7 points for 2handed only users 49 Savg 36 Hammer Parry 25 -> 32
A minimal improvement for giving people the option to enjoy the class more or a larger stage with more flexibility.
Note: minimal req. for hitting attack speed cap with a 5.6 2H is 200+ quickness and 47 Savagery (39% haste)
Please only discuss the proposed change, every class is unique to them self and additional changes would not help matters
I do not want to feel i'm forced to play the class with a single minded mindset.
does anyone else feel this way? Share your thoughts...
