So if the majority of players feel these classes ruin the game experience...
Why are we getting these classes?

Re: New Classes
Agreed. Ever since beta came out it's been nothing but complaints about the new classes. Some classes nerfed way more than others. Where's the fair balance? Eden was fine before the new classes arrived. Improving the RvR/End Game experience > 'new' classes
Re: New Classes
The FAQ is problaby not updated, because we´ve had over more than a year ago the first addition of the first part of cata classes with season 2 beta. So i guess the eden staff decides to move on and bring out more class diversity (nerfed to fit in this patch era) as new additional season content. The main focus is/was still on rvr endgame overhaul for the coming season.
Most classes (vanilla ones) were buffed a lot, if we look at the wiki?content=changes and the patch is "balanced" around 1.9x plus and we have still a lot of 1.11x and 1.12x changes included.
There is also a huge amount of custom changes.
Plus Cata + Laby classes had a bad taste, because they were insanely broken at Live release and a good time after it. We´re still in the Beta so probably more tuning is on the way and if you are following a bit the discord #patch-notes, you would see they do their best to give a enjoyable balance. You still can´t remove old live experiences that easily. I personally like class diversity, IF newer ones aren´t too overpowered. We have still enough "not-cata-classes" which can perform like crazy in different settings.
There will never be a perfect balancing which makes everyone happy. Most mirrorclassing games are also not really balanced in any content.
Complaining is easy, testing for bugfixing or for "fed" feedback isn´t. And yeah, the FAQ part should be probably updated or removed to reduce misunderstandings.

I started Eden on the last day of Season 2. So i didn't see much of what went on in S2. Only real notes i''ve seen that sounds like is different from season 2 is the release of the Vamp, the Warlock and the Occultist.
So i haven't heard anything about the Valk, was that in season 2, was that released in S3 beta? In any regards, In some of my first RVR experience i run into a valk that just as overpowered as the day it was released. How does this thing still have a 30% ip every 15 seconds that doesn't cost at least 50% of it's power? Why in gods name did they give this thing (or anything for that matter) style procs for damage? This class is the most damaging thing to happen to this game since the warlock. And the warlock is the most damaging thing to happen to the game since the vampirr. Almost every single expansion class had a massive detrimental effect on this game save maybe the reaver and Savage. And as for the reaver, yes no one wants to get rid of levi because it's basically the class. But that's what's wrong with it! Change Levi from a damage proc to an AF debuff and snare. Put the reaver on a heavy tank damage table and it's fixed.
I'm not complaining. Complaining was for 15 years ago. This is for solutions, Feedback, accountability and avoiding the mistakes of the past.
And i';m sorry i don't know what you mean by "fed" feedback.
Re: New Classes
Valk got introduced with Season 2. A year ago. I assume the majority changed their opinion as the Eden team proved to balance classes quite well.wes_hounddog wrote: Sat Feb 08, 2025 7:33 pmrentwin wrote: Sat Feb 08, 2025 12:56 pm Complaining is easy, testing for bugfixing or for "fed" feedback isn´t. Test each class, including counters. Go to Discord. Provide proper feedback on how to balance those classes in case that you think they are too strong/overperforming in certain scenarios. Make sure your statements are fact based and make sure that its not a skill issue from your side. Make sure that you don't drop the statement that any of those would "kill the server". Stay on topic, provide proof and examples to fix it.
Vamp/Warlock/Occultist got heavily modified or nerfd in contrast to the live release version. At the current state, I don't see any of them as OP in all scenarios and they will further balance them depending on performance.
