The Good:
-Currently BGs are just a (sometimes) fast means to get to level 50.
The Bad:
-Getting to level 50, you typically might be rr2- rr2l5 (if you are lucky).
-You get slapped by all the rr6-rr12 out in NF.
What could be improved?
-Vastly improve the rate of earning rps with a linear scale per each bg so you cap faster
-Greatly Improve the RP reward for doing deserter quests, so you have a means to gain RP in the BG when action is low
-Remove the ability to turn RP gain off, so once you are capped you are out
-Give a bonus for owning the ck that benefits the guild (say 20% rp gain) and the owning realm (say 10%), so there is a reason to take the CK and hold it.
Why?
As he each season progresses, the disparity for new players to be useful in big rvr will be come harder and harder since RPS carries over, this is a means for people to get to RR5 faster while being in a more "safe" environment that is less toxic and gives them motivation to keep playing the game.

At the start of each season, the RRs are gated.
It takes a while for you to be fighting anyone truly rr12.
Want to say the first month is capped at rr3, so it levels the playing field quite a bit. A rr6 that is very good could put a middle of the road rr12 player down with no issue.

Still should increase the rps gained. If someone plays the same character that is higher rr; they will benefit from the increased rps during leveling as well vs the current system. If someone is rerolling a new class/toon, they are going to barely break rr3 by the time they are lvl 50. Now yes the system has a gate, but once that gate comes off after they are farmed for loot to get template, they are always behind the power curve. Phoenix did a "catch up", that would be beneficial here allowing new toons (newly created) to get rr faster while leveling, this will also benefit those that play the same toon as it will continue to get rps. During the Phoneix leveling events, getting lvl 50 and rr5 was not uncommon through the bgs. That should be the start is rr5 if you spent everything in the bgs doing no quest, just PVP. I think I barely broke rr3 doing it that way in S2. If they added this type of gate into the system, they could then increase the RP cap from the start once level 50 (ie....the gate starts @ rr5). Welcome to DAOC, where somebody is ALWAYS "behind the power curve", me included. Regardless, while grabbing RP's while leveling is always a good thing, imo, I don't think there's an issue with the RP gain as it stands with the gated RP approach, and the other options to grab some RP's.
Making the BG's worth more RP's wouldn't hurt, but I don't think it's necessary either.
