"The other staff members have addressed this topic directly, but it is worth mentioning that players in Discord have been asking/predicting S3 since 3 months into season 2.

We understand the excitement/fun that comes with a season change, and there has definitely been a shift in general player mindset around season changes now that they have been able to see how their progress carries over from S1->S2.

For Season 3 we will be sure to announce with plenty of time ahead, and with the significant RvR updates that are coming there will be a full beta period (similar to previous seasons) as well.

With the current population and the current development timeline, Season 3 announcement is still a good while out from even being possible."

No Season 3 is planned anytime soon and even if they announce end of S2, you can expect at least 4-6 months until release of S3 (multiple months until end of S2 and multiple months for beta testing before they release S3).

At least during EU prime (no clue about US prime) action is plenty and versatile.

Something to keep in mind about season changes too - the most time consuming aspects transfer from season to season. Realm Points, crafting skills, titles, all transfer from season to season.

If you hit RR5 in s2, that RR will transfer to your level 1 character next season. There is plenty of action, really no reason to wait for s3 launch.

IMO, you can still have fun even after a year of server launch. XP isn't too bad with the BG quests / fights, and the frontier xp quests are nice as well. There's still people running xp raids weekly for things like dragon, df, sh. While Pilz is leading the way for hib in BG RvR, there's still people that run it in other realms, and the small man RvR is still very fun. KoTH events run every few hours, are very popular, and are very, very fun. You're certainly going to run into high RR toons out there, but there's still a pretty good mix of chars and RR that keeps it interesting and not absolutely futile to play. Give it a shot, imo. Do what you think is best.

Im sure you can have fun , but in daoc if you fall behind in RR you get farmed, not getting farmed and neither is anyone else, which is why population only goes down

wasnt hoping for a new "Season" was hoping for a fresh new server, i guarantee it will bang with population for months at least, but thank you for responses guys. Ill just keep pretending someone will launch a new good game : )

I think for season 3 they should give people 1 Free Realm rank 5 charachter if there new players or casual players.
And for other players maybe 1 free realm rank 5 charchter for the realm they have lowist loyalty on.

But you still have level this reallm rank 5 new toon pve from level 1. to 50 or in the battlegrounds ofcourse. And you don't get all points straight way just like how season 2 started.

Not eveyone is retired and can hit empty keeps for realm points all time. people have jobs familys.

With the RP-boost up to RR5, reaching RR5 is the easiest milestone to reach, literally takes a few days of active playing.
The hard part is to catch-up to all those RR11s.
Therefore, your recommendation wouldn't help like a lot.

Welcome to why this is a long term game and not a fast battleground. I know pleanty of people that are rr11 and are trash on the char. RR does not equal skill.

Is there a limit to how much RR transferred to the new season?

Because if everyone keeps their RR then why would there be a new season at all?

It would just take 1 day to level back up to 50 for the existing players and the new players would be exactly in the same position getting farmed in the previous season.

The realm ranks are released in increments, not sure what the starting point is but it went up every X amount per week, e.g you hit 50 and are rr3, after a week they increase the cap to rr3.1 and so on (just numbers i pulled out of my arse)
