Any of the players who prefer BGs for quick fights and less work templating make it over to Eden and plan to focus on BG play? If so which BGs? Been playing a lot in thid, planned on molvik and cathal as well - but I've found at least on the mid side that people mostly just come in for questing/Keep take xp.

Basically I would say this is a nice idea, I always enjoyed the BG's in DAOC.

My group has /xp off in Leirvik for the last 2 weeks or so while we work on Templates and farm RPs. It has been fun.

Im a guild leader for Molvik Menace. We run on the alb side most of the time its great action gmt +1 1800-00:00.

Our best day we where in molvik for 7 hours avraging about 120 kills /h

Albs are mostly outnumbered during that time but seems the last 2 days there have been more roaming grps.

Now with the deserter quest its more POI (points of interest) so it makes it so you dont hit the same grp over again.

Hit me up if you need help with items on a molvik toon (i help anyone i dont care about what realm)

Recently I started up Tree L Nine in Hib.
we don't currently have a full group yet but ... hopefully soon.
So far the ones you will see most frequently are Gornn, Amonster, Cutlass, and myself.
I don't have a plan to pass molvik. as it stands, I have a few in molvik but nothing higher.

In Molvik there is already no life equipment, I prefer the earlier BG where it is less deep (lack of RA) but where you worry less.

I suppose changes like "player kills award xp even with /xp off" kind of killed the battlegrounds game other than leveling. Just came back for season 3 and I am pretty disappointed. I realize most folks prefer NF/50 but it's much easier and less time consuming to stay in BGs like Thid and Molvik - and to myself and many others more fun. Sucks there isn't a worthwhile server to do this at anymore. -- Update: I have read up on this and I see that people leveling felt griefed by players who actually prefer to play in the BGs. Just make leveling up easier outside of the BGs and let us have our /xp off , /rp off and templates. There tons of players that love this, especially Molvik/Thid. I've read that a lot of them chose to leave. Sucks.

Battlegrounds are meant as low-entry, basically tutorial, zones for RvR.
A casual zone for new players to learn the core mechanics of RvR while they level.

It did evolve into a playground for non-casual players who want to avoid lvl 50 RvR due to different reasons. (Some think the time investment is too high, while it really isn't. Some are scared of actual competetive gameplay and prefer to kill untemped noobs and probably some other reasons I might understand).
Which basically meant that non-casual and fully temped players did run dedicated groups in battlegrounds, which was against the core idea of battlegrounds (non temped, casual players, fight against each other to prepare for lvl 50 RvR).

For me personally it seems that the only real reason to run bg toons is to get temped and farm other untemped and untrained players. I have seen so many "bg players" avoid eachother and go for untemped noobs, its pretty obvious.
I mean, I have seen full guild groups, fully temped in highly competetive setups and they will NEVER even see another group on the same gear/skill-level, griefing is their only purpose.

In any other case, Eden lvl 50 RvR offers an option (e.g. arena) and temping is super easy for quite every character.

I think the only reason to play in the BG is the lack of time to play, the short distances to find enemies, and the frequent solo or small group battles. The zerging here on the server is just plain stupid. There's no challenge to playing here on the server, because there are RPs for practically everything. And so many boast about it, haha. I have a RR11 character, and zerging still just can't play because they can't do anything with the RR in 8-man or lower... despite everything... the Uthgard days were the best!!

I hope Blackthorn prevails at some point. Until then, I'll be messing around in the BG too.

well since they turned rps kills give xp they should increase the rps so u can meet the realm rank level .
