Hi guys, great job so far....
This is a new player perspective, hear me out.
I love to use your market on the website, supper smart thing to have created. Now issue is newer players run into.
1. We can't sell anything on market because we don't have a house
Answers so far: Get a house ok np, ugh only available are 54plats to 100plats... Also no houses available, so stuck no being to sell to buy one. Other answer: Make a friend and do consignment, well we are new so no one to trust or they don't trust u.
Solution: create a neutral merchant where everyone can sell their stuff on without having to have a house, take a cut and call it a day.
Solution 2 . Make more lots like probably almost double available to purchase
Other than that, I can't see any other way to not have marketplace being controlled by gatekeepers.
Great quality of life update and new players friendly.

Housing - Market Fix
Re: Housing - Market Fix
Bumping this and seconding the option to sell without a house.
Or add a few more housing servers.
Or add a few more housing servers.
Re: Housing - Market Fix
Looked at housing a couple days ago on Mid.
22p - went within 5 mins of me mentioning there was one for "only" 22p
39p
41p
34p
89p
94p

That's all that is available. I'd bet the 30's plat will be gone soon. Add in high interest rates and we'd be at real life. I just started 2 weeks ago. How am I supposed to afford that, or sell anything? I've got a couple things that show they sell for a couple hundred gold on housing.
Allowing us to list on a non housing sales market could be the answer here. For that matter, it may even free up lots that are held by players who just have it to be able to sell. I'd even be fine with the house taking a small cut. I'm not sure adding more housing servers would be the solution either. They're so expensive, and there are so many that want them, that they'd go super quick. Then we'd be right back to where we're at now.
We also need to look at this from an item supply and demand angle. There have been a couple times where I've gone on to look for endo pots. Only to find none for sale. Opening up a non player salesman would help to alleviate this. I'm working on crafting now. I like to craft and try to be self sufficient. So it isn't a huge deal for that, but it would be nice to be able to put things up on a player market to at least try to make some of that investment back.
Make a djinn named T. Mew, an Ettin name Cee, or something like that.

Bumping this quality‑of‑life idea to support and raise awareness. It might be worth considering for players who enjoy housing and/or selling but don’t always have the time to farm or maintain everything manually. Making housing plots, as far as I’ve read, involves quite a bit of hands‑on dev-work and I can certainly understand that doing hundreds of those are not a fun thing to do.
The third option wouldn’t replace the desire to own a house, since houses still offer binding, storage, displays, and customization. But it would give time‑limited players a way to participate in the economy without needing unattainable property.
- Duplicate existing housing instance
(e.g., automatically append “_2” to the zone name or house number)
https://www.darkageofcamelot.com/what-now/"The only exception to this is the housing areas, which are separated into 10 versions."
- Realm loyalty percentage, to be able to buy a house
Add a realm loyalty percentage to being able to buy a house, and perhaps to a lesser some 'proof of being active' to be able to pay rent.
- Introduce a “General Consignment Merchant Store” rental system
Players could rent 'pages' of space, only if your account does not own a house in that realm, and max 4 pages, purely for selling items.

Re: Housing - Market Fix
This is all well and good, but the market itself also has many issues plaguing it.
Namely atm there are many scalpers on most popular items to craft, meaning making consistent profit is near impossible despite bots being supposedly outlawed on this server even if you get a house to sell.
You are also forgetting the house price is NOT the final price to start selling. add in a plat or 2 more for porch and merchant.
It is more worth to just find a good spot to farm atm unless you are willing to watch the market with no gameplay in-between. I say this having witnessed and reported a grey bot unmoving for over 30 minutes in front of their merchant adjusting prices of over 5 popular market items (Alchemy in this case) by 1 copper on each price change within 2 minutes to stay lowest. This is also not depicted properly in-game and must be looked up on browser out of game to see as the in-game system on shows gold increments on items.
The devs are focused on RvR and seem to have 0 care for the housing and market issues we have had for damn near 1 year now. So IMO use your time elsewhere; only get crafting up to support your toons and any friends/guildies unlease a sweeping change is made. But dont count on it

Yeah I would love the ability to sell stuff but could never in the current situation.
Re: Housing - Market Fix
here is a thought and possible fix to 2 things in one. make realm loyalty mean more by making it so one must have a loyalty percentage of say 50% or more to buy a house, this will cut don't on how many people are crossing realms and buying a house and then only play that realm long enough to put things on the cm and then leave to play the higher populated realms to win at rvr. leaving those like me at 100% realm loyal without a house or unable to afford 80 plat to buy just the lot let alone the house, and merchants.bicameral. wrote: Sat Apr 04, 2026 3:59 pm Yeah I would love the ability to sell stuff but could never in the current situation.
