13 OJ / red mobs killed. One drop. ONE. A tinderbox. This is ludicrous.

Re: Solo farming loot
Has there anything been done to addresse the loot issue?
Re: Solo farming loot
What loot issue? Everyone is already swimming in gold due to salvaging being so profitable.TanyaTheEvil wrote: Fri Jun 07, 2024 12:47 am Has there anything been done to addresse the loot issue?![]()
Re: Solo farming loot
Nothing. 46 kills in Dartmoor, killing OJ/red/yellow. 1 cloak rog, 1 staff rog. Stupid.
Re: Solo farming loot
Ya, but what do you salvage if you cannot get rogs to drop?penteles wrote: Sat Jun 08, 2024 12:43 pmWhat loot issue? Everyone is already swimming in gold due to salvaging being so profitable.TanyaTheEvil wrote: Fri Jun 07, 2024 12:47 am Has there anything been done to addresse the loot issue?![]()

Re: Solo farming loot
I'm going to join the side that basically says "It's nice that you want people to play mmorps in groups, but people dont always have time or desire to group"
I solo about 60% of the time as my guild isn't always on to group with, and i play an off-meta class/spec that nobody wants in a random group.
You should not hinder people's ability to solo productively.
The only universally good farming spot that know of is Hulks in DF, which is either not available or over camped.

+1 (and I know many others that would agree!)
As is the theme with a lot of my posts, most of us are adults and it can be hard to find/coordinate play time for just ourselves let alone trying to coordinate a group. Sometimes you just have 30 minutes to jump on so maybe you'd like to farm solo for 30 minutes?

Re: Solo farming loot
tested farm in dartmoor yesterday . 40min of non stop kills with an armsman rewards me with only 1 plate piece salvaged for 15 arcanium bars, 1 bracer and then just coins
Re: Solo farming loot
Firstly, thank you Haegan for your time and efforts. You and the rest of the development team are greatly appreciated. This server really is amazing, and has given myself and all of my of old DAoC buddies countless hours of nostalgic fun, so thank you for that.
Quote from Haegan-
I would just say that RoG is *one* aspect of the game that is currently tested and soon, a new mechanic will be added that will drastically change the game experience with loot.
___
This is great news, as I also stand with the group of "I farm solo" VERY strongly. That I feel is the only thing missing from the server. There is VAST amounts of beautiful nostalgic map that is useless really. SI / TOA / even in classic zones, there used to be a plethora of camps with viable drop rates and ability to be farmed alone. Camps like pygmys are just not worth the time. NF alchemy drops as well, are just at such a slow drop rate there is no reason to not go to the spot where everyone goes that drops ROGs named items and alchemy loot, this creates one area everyone farms and makes the server become very mundane. Run to same spot farm same mobs, wear same gear as next guy, run to rvr.
I also feel the solo game gets hurt in RVR as alot of teleporting that didnt used to exist, kills routes once required to get to the fight. Thus killing solos/small mans being able to pick off people en route to the battle.
All in all I feel the solo game has been overlooked quite a bit, and it is something that was always amazing in DAoC.
For the buffs part, group / small group have access to buffs via players buffs, solo player can buy/craft buff potions.
We're still not sure how we're going to implement buffbot in PvE, but players & buff potions will always be superior than buffbot.
[/quote]
I think buff bots would kill this server, I love the classic mixed with newer stuff that does suck mix. We all know stuff that was awful that killed this game.
Just my two cents.

Re: Solo farming loot
Solo/small man farming definitely needs a healthy boost. There have been times i would want to hop on and play PVE for a nice chill evening with just myself or a few friends and quickly get reminded that it's not a viable option here and I just wouldn't log on at all until I wanted to RvR while i Understand incentivizing group play is great there has to be another way without killing the solo or small man farm since people being able to farm in various places throughout all zones instead of raiding all the time will increase the people who prefer to raids profits for doing so leading to a more healthy and active marketplace. Not only would encouraging incentivizing solo/small man farming liven up the marketplace and bring back a huge part of this game for everyone it would also increase the social aspect. Ive made many friends joining a random group out in PVE zones camping with other 50s for a good farm session it will make the game more lively and produce a healthier community as a whole. Not only effecting pve but that would definitely cause a ripple effect making people more likely to invite there new friends out for some RVR . But buff bots should NEVER be allowed thought I might add that dont wantthat to be misconstrued.
As for Rvr as small and solo the additional ports throughout the frontier have definitely done a number on the usage of the frontier all though the solo duo and small man zones were a good idea for the most part and still are, the ports to ALL owned keeps and porting from the docks has decimated all other options for RVR it's either that which ends up overpopulated and not a good option for solo/duo or zerg. A simple solution would be remove a few of the ports from keeps like the old days remove the port to solo/duo make people use boats and if koth is going to stay remove the teleport feature and have it in EV and make groups run from there main land.
I do want to end acknowledging our amazing devs and everyone who makes this thing tick you are all doing an amazing job! Let's make this even better for all of us!
