Spellbinder: The Nexus Conflict was made by Mythic right before DAOC with the same engine. It is an arena shooter where you fight for control of earthnodes which give your spellcasting team the power you need to overwhelm the other two teams. We launched the beta for a Spellbinder https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tsKRsVxOa1o https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spellbind ... s_Conflict server recently at https://github.com/Mindl-dev/Spellbinder/releases/ . The client and server are fully open source and now anyone can easy launch them and play in the future. They are nearly fully featured, with a 60hz tick rate over its original 2hz .

We have playtests on Sunday nights PST. Here's our discord https://discord.gg/Bc9DkN6EVp .

Is there a chance that Darkness Falls: The Crusade could be the same? I used to log into DFC and see Spellbinder; people seemed to like that game back then.

The thing is that most of the game is in the client in the case of Spellbinder. So it's "easier" (read "possible", still ridiculously hard, and why it hadn't been done in 20 years) to extract all the game knowledge from it. In the case of DF all the game was in the server. You'd have to interview people and try to get as much information about the world as possible, then recreate it.
