Back after 20 years

Hello,
First I just wanted to say that DAOC was my favorite game back in the day.
And my 2 friends and I have just signed back up.
I am almost level 43, Necromancer.

Could someone please explain to me what I should be doing to maximize my time/efficiency/grinding/etc., in order to get a full set of rvr gear so that I can be competitive.
Right now I just finished the cloak and belt for the epic armor quests, and when I get 45, will do the full epic armor set quest from King.

What should I do next?
I have tried researching all over the internet and I have found some info, but it lacks specifics and details.
-Join BG's (what are those? I've learned they are different than the BG's I'm used to, rvr'ing and leveling in)
-Darkness Falls quests
-Summoners Hall? (not sure what it is)
-Acquire end-game currency. (there's multiple kinds, where do they come from? How do I get the quests or get started, and where do I spend the currency at?)

Any helpful info will be greatly appreciated.

I'm also back after 20 years (technically 21, I quit soon after New Frontiers). Leveling in Eden is pretty fast, I've noticed it goes extremely fast and people are very friendly in the battlegrounds -- find a group, do the quests, work through them until you basically hit 50. I haven't done that yet (got to 49), but I am also fairly clueless with what to do when you hit actual 50. Seems like the quests are very different than in the regular game -- there's usually a guy standing right near the zone that gives all the quests out.

I saw at the entrance to Darkness Falls there's a quest giver, I'm assuming that's what people mean when they say DF quest.

Welcome back, both of you.

First of all, the Forum is pretty dead. The majority of the playerbase is actively using the Eden Discord.
Go there, visit the questions and answers channel, feel free to ask there what you want. People will help you fast and friendly.
The Discord bot will create a channel for your specific question.
In there you can type "!beginner" and the bot will provide beginner tutorial videos, including one called "What to do at lvl 50".
This one, I think: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T_MXtqZ3AGI
That one should answer many of your questions.

What I would recommend:
- Visit your class channel on Eden Discord, check the pinned messages for templates or ask for a valid template.
- After that, you have a list of items you need. You can check costs, requirements, drop locations and more (you can even access the housing market via the "market" button of that tool) via the "Item Database" here on this homepage: items
- A lot of the content quests/PvE raids etc, gets announced in multiple channels. Feel free to ask in advice if you have questions and don't forget: /who bg, /bg join XY. Sometimes there are entire raid days announced beforehand.

Questline:
- Dragon questline, starts in dragon zone, entrance to the dragon folks. Three parts (lvl req. 45,48,48), first can be done with few people, second is fg-battlegroup, last one is killing the dragon therefore battlegroup content. Rewards are dragonslayer set and dragon weapon of your choice. Often used in templates, otherwise you can sell them for platin and each quest should provide nearly one lvl up.
- Epic quests. Mostly for XP and some mediocre gear for leveling. Rarely used in templates. Selling your epic can be worth some plats though.
- Other questline. Only relevant if you need the gear or the free xp.
Something like [45-50] Llyn Barfog - The Great Hunt for Medal of Honor or the bunny quest for Springtime Folley.
Again, check your template, check origin of item via Item Database, go for it.

PvE Raids:
There are different currencies for completing different PvE raids/dungeons, BUT you can convert all of them at will at the currency npc in Kings room depending on the current demand-rate. Therefore, get as much currency as you can. Currency is not tradeable, but some people will buy certain gear for you if you pay them platin in exchange.
There are multiple PvE raid locations, there is quite always a repeatable quest at dungeon entrance, get it for free level up, myths and sometimes other rewards:
- Darkness Falls for Deamon Blood Seals.
- POC (Summoners Hall) for Grimoire pages. (SE of Boldiam)
- Dragon Raid for Dragon scales.
- TOA raids (ML8 and ML10) for Atlantean glass.
- Epic dungeon (Caer Sidi in Albion) for Caer Sidi souls.
Completing each raids quest will unlock merchants at which you can buy raid specific gear for raid currencies. As I said, you can convert them into other currencies, therefore participate in any raid you can see. Make sure the learn the dungeon locations beforehand, when raids get announced preparation time can be sparce, people might be in a hurry and not able to explain you the way to the raid. Groups can create group portals via bind stone item in your inventory though, If someone writes "portal in Cotsvold", go there, you should see a portal, use it to get to your group.

Beside that, there are some RvR questlines which provide gold, raid currency, alchi mats for potions and even so called writs, which can be used to unlock raid npc merchants without actually completing the raid-quest.
They all start in Catterick Hamlet (relic town in Frontier).
- Three kill quests for gold: One for mobs in Albion/Midgard/Hibernia. You need to kill 20 mobs and receive gold and alchi mats as a reward. Albion is the easiest with yellow/orange mobs.d. Hib and Mid are more difficult with red/purple mobs. Called "... Liches", "... Finliaths", "... Giants". Total gold reward of all three quests should be around 1p.
- One questline where you have to kill two camps (like 10 total) of yellow/orange mobs called "Demons and Dragons", some raid currency as a reward.
-Three quests, one each realm, with the task to kill named mobs in each realms Frontier zone. 250g + either a writ or CL scroll as a reward. They are called "Bounties of Albion/Midgard/Hibernia".

Hope I could help, again check Discord. ;)
All those quests are repeatable, somethings every few hours, don't know the exact time. Even though you might get killed in RvR, those are worth it, especially during off-hours.
