Having fun but can't find my class!

I've returned after 20ish years and I'm having a blast re-exploring the classes, but I haven't settled on anything yet. I'll continue trying everything out, but I'm hoping someone can make a suggestion for when I just want to settle in for some grinding.
What is the best class, regardless of realm, if you just want to be chill, solo kill (PVE) and have high sustain? The earlier the sustain comes the better. I have a lot of trouble getting into Necro - it just feels odd. Casting two spells at once is cool, I do like that, but it's still not quite my thing. I'm thinking Skald might fit, but I was also saving him to find a spot in groups so I'm hoping there is another option. Any and all suggestions would be appreciated!
