For being use : Some item should be equiped and some can only be in your bag.

How to know before bying item ?
It’s not written in the game

Afaik, you can use all the stat-buff-charges from the inventory.
Not entirely sure about the rest. Quite sure everything with an offensive charge needs to be equiped.
