Cant seem to make the other keys on my mouse apart from left and right mouse button work

Normally I would just go to Options and for example bind the Run Toggle to one of the buttons of my MX518 but here it doesnt register any inputs apart from the left and right standard mouse buttons? Any ideas why this happens? I even tried setting a profile for DAoC in Logitech Gaming Suite, but it didnt help.
