Item(s) +% Gold Mechanic Question

How do the +% gold items work in a group? Does the whole group gain the benefit or is it just the player wearing the item(s)? I was farming in a group and I had a total of +13% gold bonus and everyone was getting the same coin drops as me. So, I'm guessing that it effects the whole group or it's bugged when grouped.
