Max value of stats

Hello everybody.
I need a clarification about this sentence found in the FAQs:
Consequently, when I create a new character, if I put the initial points into a stat that at lvl 50 would go over 101, wouldn't it be a waste of points? Can I avoid to spend the points in that stat?
For example: according to DAoC-Charplan, Piety for a Troll Bonedancer starts at 60 and grows to 105 at lvl 50 without initial points.
Since the limit is 101, why should I put 10 points in Piety?
Thanks

That means that I will not have more than 101 in a statistic (not buffed, evidently). Right?Your character will be able to reach up to 101 in stats.
