Thane spells being interrupted

Hello. I was wondering if there was any reason why about half the time after I slam a target and move away from it go to cast a spell and the animation for the spell starts but it says the mobs attacking me and im interrupted. The mob has been stunned for multiple seconds already and isn't capable of doing anything for 6 or so more seconds. Curious if this is a known bug or something else thanks.
