Losing CON in PvP on death

Lost CON and XP when I died in Cathal Valley.

Killed SB.
Was killing deserter and got hit by a BD.
Deserter kills me with last hit.

You have lost con and xp message. I was surprised but I did indeed lose con and xp.

Is this unique to BGs? I don't recall this being a RvR thing unless you were careful to mes/stun/disarm only.
