August 22, 2022 - Thank You

Eden Players,

First, we want to say thank you to the community for showing interest in Eden and play testing over the weekend. We never imagined we would have over 1200 concurrent players for Alpha! We are all so blown away by the reaction and support we have received from the community. This has been a great stress test for our server and infrastructure and thanks to the help of the community we have been able to identify a few bottlenecks that have been fixed. We were also happy to see the server held up quite well when watching over 400 players battling it out in a small battleground all firing off spells and abilities while taking place in an epic battle!

Secondly, we wanted to give you an update on where we are at now. We have heard your feedback for PvE xp + RoG rates as well as BG xp + RoG rates. This is why we are doing an Alpha and have the level range capped at 24 for now. We are actively working on balancing this out so expect to see changes while playing over the next week. There is quite a lot of math that goes into making each of these systems feel rewarding and balanced without making one too slow or another too fast.

And lastly, even though Alpha launch weekend went amazingly smooth, there is still room for improvement. We have received over 300 bug reports and have addressed the majority of them. However, this is a lot of work for such a small team of volunteers working for free, so please be patient with us and help us out by making good bug reports.

We need your bug report to provide as much data and detail as possible. The more the better. Examples: detailed specifics of what happened - delve of exact item name, spell, or style - screenshots - combat logs - video of it happening - reference links for the correct DAoC mechanics.

We’re all in this together to try and make Eden an amazing server that you can continue to play for many years to come.

Regards,
Eden Staff
