These wolves can spawn between levels 3-7.

If adventurers continually weed out the lower level wolves, the remaining spawns become the higher levels.

He has a 5 minute (+/- 20%) respawn. He was however stuck in the wall of his hut. He has been reset. Thank you for reporting.
