Evade and Block receiving a 25% reduction vs. DW

At this patch level - there should not be a defense penetration penalty to evade vs. dual wielders, block vs. dual wielders, and parry vs. two-handed.

Currently, evade is receiving a 25% reduction vs. Dual wield and block is receiving a 25% reduction vs. Dual wield. Parry is correctly not receiving a penalty vs. two handed.

The first swing is a berserker, with only a 1h weapon equipped, and no LH axe. Note the evade 16%. The second swing is with a left axe equipped, which decreases the evade chance to 12% (which coincides with a 25% reduction).

I then tested block chance vs dual wield in the picture below. The first block was with and opponent with 1h weapon equipped and no LH axe. Note the block of 12%. The next block is with a left axe equipped, and block was reduced to 9% (which coincides with a 25% reduction).

I tested parry vs a two-handed (spear). Parry was only reduced by the attackers listed defense penetration, and there was no additional 25% reduction. Therefore this is currently working correctly.

Re: Evade and Block receiving a 25% reduction vs. DW

Not sure about the rules on replying to this or not...Sorry if against the rules

The issue comes into what patch they are using as the basis for build (unknown to me tbh)

In the 1.9xx range, they removed the 50% bonus and dropped the max rate to 60% from 75% for blocking and removed the 2hander 50% reduction in parry w/ a 50% cap for parry

Then in 1.109:

All players who are wielding two weapons will now reduce their target’s chance to block or evade by 25%.

They added nothing back for 2handers against parry. Currently on live 2handers should not cut parry by 25% based on this grab bag below.

This is from a Grab Bag on the subject

https://forum.darkageofcamelot.com/disc ... 02-19-2021
I've read in a previous grab bag that "dual wield halve the chances to be evaded". So I wonder: Does it halve the chance to be parried? Does two-handed halve the chances to parry? Does something halve the chances to block?

Dual-wielders receive an extra 25% penetration bonus versus evade and block, not a 50% bonus. There is no such penetration bonus versus parry for any weapon type.
It is great you tested this though...As this patch 1.109 is in our game also means that SLAM should only be 5secs for shield users unless they are a main tank class(arms/hero/war).

Patch 1.109
Class Balance
Balance Changes
All players who are wielding two weapons will now reduce their target’s chance to block or evade by 25%.
All classes will now receive their final armor and shield proficiencies at level 1. Additionally, all classes will be able to use all weapons that their class can use at level 1, and will be granted access to all specialization lines at level 1. This change has affected the following classes, which have had all skill points refunded:
Albion: Armsman, Cleric, Friar, Infiltrator, Mercenary, Minstrel, Paladin, Reaver, Scout.
Midgard: Healer, Hunter, Shaman, Skald, Thane, Valkyrie, Warrior.
Hibernia: Bard, Blademaster, Champion, Druid, Hero, Nightshade, Ranger, Warden.
Caltrops – This ability, granted to Infiltrators, Nightshades, and Shadowblades, will now affect all enemy realm targets, and not just characters that are mounted.
Vanish – This ability will now also silence the user for 15 seconds when used.
Slam – the stun duration has been reduced to 5 seconds for all classes except for Heroes, Armsmen, and Warriors.

Re: Evade and Block receiving a 25% reduction vs. DW

Without banelord and astral illusion weapons, light tanks are likely to be overlooked in favor of heavy tanks.
This is a way to nudge balance in their favor, subject to feedback during beta.
