Animist Main Pet Is Not Holding Aggro

Opening official bug based on this thread. https://discord.com/channels/8684286631 ... 4788471869

Since the reboot/patch on 10/3/2022 there is a problem with animists. I am creeping spec. Normally you can cast main pet, then cast all your forest hearts. The main pet acts as the source of all aggro and mobs will concentrate on the main pet until it dies. Once it dies they will come to the animist. Now - they just come straight to me. The main pet does not hold any aggro.

Example 1: In this case the aggro flipped as soon as I cast a heal, which is unusual in itself as you can normally heal all you want, but I've died 5-6 times and on many others I didn't heal at all. Sometimes one or 2 mobs will hold aggro and others won't. I can't seem to find a pattern. In this instance the main shroom is there and the small stack is 500 units away. https://youtu.be/F-PDNKO761Y

Example 2: No heals from me, no damage from me. You can skip the first 60s as its just me getting setup. https://youtu.be/vzICEfizqaw

What is your source on this? https://www.uthgard.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=14362
- Much of the aggression generated by Animist turrets will now be transferred to the Animist's
controlled pet, if the turret and controlled pet are within 750 units of each other, during PvE
combat.
"Much" is not "all".
The first video the main pet is just on 750 range, it is unclear if aggro will hold.
The second video the main pet is further than 750 range hence it will not generate any aggro.

Re: Animist Main Pet Is Not Holding Aggro

My source is really just how its always worked on shards I have played. That's not necessarily accurate so I will need to do additional research. It definitely changed drastically with this last patch.

In the first video the forest hearts are cast 500 units from the main pet. The first heal of the main pet doesn't hit the shroom until the mob is at 28% health yet it still lost aggro and came to me.

In the second video I have 8 shrooms within 500 units of the main. I then cast a total of 4 more shrooms at 1000 units away. If the mob takes damage from any of the shrooms 1000 units away it is coming to me. It should not generate more aggro from the 4 shrooms at 1k units that the 8+main sitting within 500 units of each other.

Re: Animist Main Pet Is Not Holding Aggro

I have reviewed all the patch notes from 1.65 -> 1.100 from here searching for animist: https://darkageofcamelot.com/content/patch-notes. These are all relevant changes:

1.70
https://camelotherald.fandom.com/wiki/P ... rsion_1.70
The link you provided from Uthgard does not match the official patch notes. There is no reference to changes to animist.

1.71
https://camelotherald.fandom.com/wiki/P ... rsion_1.71
(Bug Fix) The percent chance for monsters aggressing animist turrets and to have that aggression transferred to the animist's controlled pet has been slightly increased.

1.88
https://camelotherald.fandom.com/wiki/P ... rsion_1.88
Limited to 5 FNF turrets. HPs increased by 50% on turrets. Fungal Potency spell added.

Summary
Given the 1.71 notes it seems something was done in 1.70 but there is nothing in the official notes. I would point out that in no cases in the patch notes should the aggro go to the animist. Its a % chance for aggro to go from the FNF turret to the controlled pet. On Eden its going to the animist - which is wrong.

In any case, the entire thing seems to have been scrapped in 1.88 anyway for a new system.

This has no meaning.

Changing pet cap has nothing to do with aggro mechanics.

Animist Main Pet Aggro

Not sure why you locked the other thread without addressing the main concern. I went through every single patch note and there is no reference to aggo moving from the FNF turret to the animist. The aggro moves from the FNF turret to the controlled turret. Eden is moving aggro to the animist - which is wrong.

This is true.
Aggro is (not evenly) distributed to FnF, controlled and Animist. Animist gets by far the lowest one. Which you would have understood if you read the post.
